The Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) Odisha State Branch is a dedicated body of mental health professionals committed to advancing psychiatric care, education, and awareness across the state of Odisha. Functioning under the aegis of the Indian Psychiatric Society’s East Zone, the Odisha Branch plays a pivotal role in promoting mental health initiatives and fostering professional development among psychiatrists and allied mental health practitioners.​
Key Initiatives
The Odisha State Branch has been instrumental in hosting significant events, such as the 49th Conference of the Eastern Zonal Branch of the Indian Psychiatric Society (CEZIPS 2024), held from November 28-30, 2024, at the Mayfair Palm Beach Resort in Gopalpur. This conference, themed “Recent Advances in Psychiatry: Neurobiology to Neuromodulation,” provided a platform for mental health professionals to discuss cutting-edge developments in the field. ​
In collaboration with academic institutions like the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), the Odisha Branch has organized various workshops and seminars focusing on topics such as autism awareness, digital hygiene, and women’s mental health.
